Washington National Cathedral to Convene Religious Leaders for Dialogue on the Death Penalty 

Interfaith panel will be moderated by EJ Dionne Jr, feature arias from Washington National Opera

WASHINGTON, D.C – Washington National Cathedral will host an interfaith panel of national religious leaders to discuss their perspectives on the death penalty, and America’s use of capital punishment, on Monday, February 6, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. ET.

The panel will be introduced by death penalty abolition activist Sister Helen Prejean and moderated by Washington Post political columnist E.J Dionne, Jr. The program will include arias from the opera adaptation of Prejean’s 1993 nonfiction book Dead Man Walking, which will run at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts from February 25-March 11. The event is co-sponsored by Catholic Mobilizing Network, Washington National Opera and the Equitas Foundation.
