Journalist and author Ray Suarez has been a member of the Chapter since 2016. A resident of Washington, D.C., he is a member of St. Columba’s Episcopal Church.

Suarez is currently writing a book on American immigration, due to be published in 2023. He is co-host of the podcast and public radio program WorldAffairs, and covers Washington for Euronews. Over the course of a long career in journalism, he has been the host of Al Jazeera America’s daily news program Inside Story, Chief National Correspondent for The PBS NewsHour, and host of NPR’s Talk of the Nation. He has been a John McCloy Visiting Professor of American Studies at Amherst College, and will soon begin an appointment as a visiting professor of Political Science at New York University in Shanghai.

Suarez and his wife Carole have three adult children. His daughter, Eva, is the associate rector of St. James Church in Manhattan.
