Statement on Appointment of Rabbi David Saperstein as Ambassador-at-Large for International Religious Freedom
Washington, D.C. — The Very Rev. Gary Hall, dean of Washington National Cathedral, today released the following statement on the appointment of Rabbi David Saperstein as ambassador-at-large for international religious freedom.
“All of us in the faith community rejoice in the appointment of Rabbi David Saperstein as ambassador-at-large for international religious freedom. Rabbi Saperstein has unequaled experience working with faith and government leaders on issues of great social and moral concern. He is a longtime friend of Washington National Cathedral and a leader with great intellectual and spiritual depth. I join my colleagues across the religious spectrum to applaud this appointment and congratulate him on it. He will bring great wisdom, insight, and courage to this new role.”
